Calgary buildings - Past and Present

Today the students were presented with a challenge....can you use Lego to create a model of a Calgary building? First we looked through pictures of Calgary buildings, both past and present. Then, we sorted lego from the iLab to make it easier to find the pieces we needed. 

Finally, students began creating models of Calgary buildings. 

We will be using these structures with our artist-in-residence in a couple of weeks. She will be teaching us about sketching and looking closely. 

Winter clothing reminder: 

With the weather being a little bit warmer this week, students have started going outside again for recess and lunch break. We have noticed many students coming to school without mittens and hats. Although it has warmed up a little bit, it is still quite chilly when students are outside for extended periods of time. Please make sure that your child is coming to school each day with snow pants, boots, hats, mittens and a warm coat.
